2020 Dubai Expo Postponed by One Year
Due to the global outbreak of Covid-19, the 2020 Dubai Expo has been postponed to 2021.
The Expo 2020 Dubai was scheduled to open from 20th October 2020 until 10th April 2021. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the organizer has decided to postpone the Expo 2020 Dubai till 2021. It will now be held from 1st October 2020 to 31st March 2022.
Dubai has spent billions of dollars on the world’s fair and was expecting to attract more than 24 million visitors from all over the world. The event has helped boost Dubai’s real-estate market and its world’s busiest airport for international travel was expecting more tourists from this October.
On Monday, 4th May, the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) voted to delay the Expo 2020 until next year ensure the health and safety of all participants. Despite the one-year delay, Expo 2020 Dubai will retain its name.
Dubai is the first Middle East city to host the World Expo in its 150-year history. The Expo 2020 Dubai was set to be the largest innovation fair in Arab world. It is an opportunity for Dubai and the UAE to build up connections and partnerships around the world.
