Nikos Christodoulides, the Cypriot Foreign Minister, during an official visit to Kuwait, met with the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. 

Amongst the developments during the meeting were the inking of an agreement on air travel services, MOU for reception of Kuwaiti citizens in the event of evacuation during a crisis.

Both sides have also agreed to initiate discussions aiming to enhance cooperation in the fields of Search and Rescue, maritime affairs, cultural cooperation and recognition of higher education diplomas. Other topics in discussion included developments in the Middle East, regional cooperation prospects, EU-Kuwait relations and the Cyprus issue. 

A jointly-organised business forum by the Cypriot and Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Cyprus Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Cyprus-Kuwait Business Association, was also attended by the Cypriot minister, and delegations from the business sector of the respective countries, to promote trade cooperation and investments.
