On the sidelines of the recently concluded World Government Summit in Dubai, UK International Trade Secretary Liam Fox has been confirmed to have participated in high-level political and business discussions with members of the UAE government as well as businesses.

The UAE is an important trading partner for the UK, and with Brexit set to be implemented soon, the UK would stand for a strengthening of cooperation with strong economies in the Gulf region, such as the UAE, to continue its trade relationship with global partners.

With a globalized economy and the UK expected to leave the European Union, it is in Britain's best interest to explore and maintain avenues of growth and new markets.

With a potential GCC-UK trade deal, currently valued at approximately USD 50 billion, that could be beneficial for all, it is certainly a topic that will continue to be explored and discussed by both sides for mutual advantage and opportunities.
